The current state of water in our world
We consist of 65 percent water, flowing within our brains, bodies and blood.
And 70 percent of our planet is water - flowing in lakes, rivers and to our oceans.
This precious resource sustains a huge part of our inherently powerful mind, body, soul connection to ourselves and our blue planet.
Born from our water-like wombs onto a water-filled planet, water is one of the most basic yet wondrous needs we have.
Water is the most important substance we put into our bodies.
The water within becomes the water without.
Our blue planet is covered in water, so we may think water is abundant, yet only 0.6% is freshwater (in rivers and lakes) available for drinking. And clean drinking water is even less available. Water is a precious resource.
Water scarcity is a huge issue in today's world as scarce freshwater may be used for drinking, cleaning, industry and agriculture in a growing world population.
Water scarcity occurs everywhere. More than 1 billion people lack access to water. Two-thirds of the global population live under severe water shortage at least one month of the year. Industry, agriculture and consumers create chemical runoff and pollution into water sources. Climate change affects the amount of water availability through droughts and floods. By 2025, two thirds of the global population may face water shortage.
We as a humanity are facing a water crisis.
Every drop of water that exists has been cycled from the beginnings of our planet to now. Water quality and supply is impacted by humanity's polluting ways. 40% of plastic bottles, bags and straws are used only once and then thrown. Over 80% of land-based plastic finds its way to the sea, along the way polluting freshwater supply and impacting animals to death. Less than 9% of plastic is recycled and it is estimated by 2050, there will be more plastics in the ocean than fish by mass.
Plastics are formed as or degrade to microplastics, then travel through water to all parts of our planet and ourselves. Worldwide plastic use must be stopped for our planet and in turn us, to live in health. It starts with our choices.
Let us flow in purity of health and beauty of planet with peace for our future that starts with choice. Your choice. The time is now.
